Help for Sports Injuries in Burlington

man playing basketball sitting on the floor holding knee in painFor young athletes, life moves fast—practice, training, games, and school all competing for attention. With so much movement and intensity, it’s no surprise that sore muscles, joint tension, or minor injuries can show up along the way. Over time, repeated strain or impact can take a toll, especially in high-contact sports like hockey. Gentle chiropractic care can help support recovery, balance, and mobility so active kids can stay in the game and feel their best.

Dr. Andrew provides care for athletes of all ages and levels, from young competitors to adults who stay active through work, fitness, or recreational sports.

NEW PATIENTS

Crosby’s Story

At just 14, Crosby lives for hockey. When he’s not on the ice, he’s out on the soccer field keeping his skills sharp. But after a tough hit against the boards one weekend, he started to feel a deep ache in his lower back and hip. The discomfort made it harder to skate smoothly, and his stride started to suffer. That’s when he and his mom decided to visit our clinic to see if gentle chiropractic care could help him move comfortably again.

Getting Started

Dr. Andrew began with a detailed assessment to understand how Crosby’s body was moving after the collision. He noticed some tightness and imbalance around his spine and pelvis—areas often affected by contact sports. To help, we recommended the Activator Method®, a gentle, low-force technique that uses a small handheld instrument to deliver light, precise impulses to specific joints. It’s a calm and controlled approach that many young athletes find comfortable and reassuring.

His Path Back to Play

  • Weeks 1-2: Crosby started care with three visits a week. As the tension eased, he felt more flexible and noticed less discomfort when skating or bending.
  • Months 2-3: His visits were reduced to twice a week while he focused on exercises to strengthen his core, improve balance, and build resilience for future games.
  • Ongoing Care: These days, Crosby checks in every three weeks to keep his spine aligned and support his growth and athletic performance. He’s back to playing confidently and enjoying every minute on the ice.

Everyone responds differently. Crosby’s story reflects his own personal experience.
